Job Description
The Associate Director for Aquatics Programs at the University of Iowa will oversee the planning, development, promotion, and implementation of recreation and educational programs to engage and develop students and UI Community Members through Aquatics Programs in the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC) and Field House pools. Responsibilities will include:
Event Scheduling
Training, supervision and evaluation of the Aquatic professional and student staff
Managing competitive aquatic events including Athletics
Coordinating the safety training for Recreational Services aquatic programs

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Extensive professional experience (typically 3-5 years) in campus recreation at an institution of higher education involving swimming/aquatic program management.
Extensive experience managing performance of professional employees involving the application of performance management system, practices, and tools to develop and improve individual, team and organizational performance.
Extensive knowledge of and ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.
Extensive knowledge of and ability to ensure safe practices in daily operations and effective maintenance and repair services for facilities.
Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative climate that recognizes and promotes diversity and individual growth in multicultural competency.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
American Red Cross in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification.

Desirable Qualifications:
Registered Collegiate Recreational Sports Professional.
Proficiency in the use of Hy-Tek Swim Meet Management software.
Proficiency in the use of swim timing equipment and scoreboard systems.
Salary Range
$66,000 to Commensurate
